Child Protection Policy

Safeguarding of children and adults at risk

The Church of Scotland aims to ensure a safe church and services for children and adults.  We have four groups of children attending our Sunday schools, as well as Brigade on a Monday night. These children range from 2 years to 16/17 years with the recommended ratio of volunteers to children.

As Safeguarding Coordinators we ensure that all volunteers are PVG checked (Disclosure Scotland) which is a rigorous process.

These volunteers work within recommended guidelines and receive training. Certain forms are required to be held and kept up to date.  Eg. Contact details, Risk Assessments that must be carried out for outings, video and photography permissions, all of which are held securely.

Safeguarding means Recognising, Reporting, and Recording if necessary to ensure the safety for our children and adults.
